I can't pretend to be able to save them all on my own, but that's no excuse for not doing what little I can.

To that end, on 24th September this year I will be taking part in The Great Gorilla Run. Yes, I will be heading to London to run 7km dressed as a gorilla. If anyone would like to join me on the day, either to run as well or to stand and cheer me on, that would be fantastic. It would be even more fantastic if you could also sponsor me.

I should be getting my gorilla suit in a week or two, at which point I will of course be posting photos. I even plan to do some of my training wearing the suit, which may well come as a shock to the gym where I work. I'll keep everyone updated as to how it's going!

Apologies to anyone who's seen this multiple times by now, I'm cross posting to a few communities. It's a good cause, and I want it to get as much coverage as possible!

Have you asked ZZ9 to help with publicity? I'm sure a fair number of members would like to sponsor you and maybe cheer you on.

I did before I signed up for it, back in May, to get opinions on whether it would be OK to canvass the bounce for sponsorship (the general consensus was that I was mad, and that posting would be OK). I shall post something today.

I should have something in the latest MH (which I haven't got yet, so I can't check). I'll also post something to the bounce. I'm rather hoping that some will be there to cheer (and to drink beer afterwards). Possibly nearer the time I'll get some of you to pass the word round the pub meeting.

You appear to be visiting London when we are going to Nottingham. That is bad planning on somebody's part. But I'll definitely be sponsoring you even if we can't be there to cheer. And I still think you are mad. Still, at least you're not snowboarding in a Gorilla suit like Stef. Do you get to keep the suit at least?

At least it should be a lot cooler by November than it is now. If you really did travel in costume I bet you could raise some money on the way as well as at the AGM.

When I remember!

I have a photo somewhere from over 15 years ago of me and a friend having a towel fight in the middle of a busy shopping street. We got a few funny looks!
